how it works

When you think about fostering, you might envisage a large, loving family of all different ages. Fostering in Blaenau Gwent is a lot like a large family, as we’re well-connected. We’re proud of our dedicated network, providing expertise, support and guidance whenever you need it.

Our team at Blaenau Gwent have an out-of-hours telephone support service operated by the placement team, to offer further support to our foster care families. It’s about being there when you need us, in every way we can.

better together

For the children in our care as well as their foster families, we’re here to help. We truly believe that fostering is better when we work together, which is why we offer the level of support we do.

Foster Wales Blaenau Gwent is a team effort, working together every day. It’s a true collaboration, as we’re part of the wider Foster Wales community – which takes in all 22 of Wales’ Local Authorities. We’re all dedicated not-for-profit organisations, and this means everything goes right back into our community, giving back where it’s needed most.

what makes us different

We’re not your average fostering agency, but part of a nationwide collective of all the Local Authority fostering teams across Wales.

Our team in Blaenau Gwent offers respite for carers of children with disabilities, additional support with education for those children who need a little extra time, and even further training opportunities for our foster carers.
